Caruso's

Iron Door Restaurant, 10300 East Ski Run Road, Mount Lemmon.  (520) 576-1321.  Open Thurs-Mon, closed Tue-Wed.  Across from Ski Valley, the southernmost ski resort in the continental United States, this restaurant is pricey but excellent.  Dine in the warmth of the fireplace in the log cabin, or outside on the patio.  Freshly made chili, soups, breads and pies make this place special.  Try the famous Iron Door Chili with onions, cheese and a large slice of cornbread.  Add a hot spiced cider, wine, or hot chocolate.  $$ (2009)

Mc Mahon's Prime Steak House

Mi Nidito Cafe

Omar's Highway Chef Restaurant @ Triple T Truck Stop, 5451 E Benson Hwy, Tucson. (520) 574-0961. American Food. Open 24 hrs daily. $. V, MC, AE, DC. When you first walk into this restaurant, you can tell the staff have their act together. Elegantly placed on each tabletop, awaiting your arrival, is the usual assortment of dinnerware and condiments, coffee cups, drink cups and a pitcher of icewater. I stopped by for lunch and ordered a salad and hot roast beef sandwich. The salad was fresh and crunchy. The hot roast beef sandwich was tender and was served with lightning speed. Food and service both excellent. Food Network rated this restaurant a Top 5 "18 Wheel Meal". $ (2007)
